Welcome to Epitome's website.

Epitome is a deduplication engine written for OpenBSD and is release under the ISC license.
Please read the man pages for an explanation of what this is and how to use it.

I did a talk during dcbsdcon 2009 and you can get the slides here.

To-do:
- Write better b+tree than libc bdb
- Write push agent
- Design VTL
- Make raw backend more robust (remove libc bdb dependency etc)
- Design filesystem support for backup and restore
- Save metadata to backend
- Design & implement CAS
- Write psql, new version bdb & mysql backend
- Write psql & mysql backup plugin
- Write async client/server code
- Start thinking about different OS clients
- Port to other UNIXi
